Who Are We?

The band at Halton Church

Our concert band currently consists of about 30 instrumentalists, including flutes, clarinets, saxophones, oboe, bassoon, trumpets, horns, trombones, euphonium, bass and percussion. The band’s main objectives are:

  • To facilitate the practice of instrumental music making,
  • To provide an ensemble playing platform for amateur and student musicians by organising concerts, performances and other events,
  • To organise regular public and private performances.
We are also members of the British Association of Symphonic Bands and Wind Ensembles (BASBWE.org).

"Absolutely stunning! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! - the band played like a dream, the audience lapped it up, and if the doorstep comments are accurate virtually everyone went home feeling uplifted by the whole occasion. I think you have certainly made your mark in Gipton. "
Father Paul Payton - Church of the Epiphany, Gipton
